The first regional conference on copyright in audiovisual art of Central and Eastern Europe, organized by SAA (the European umbrella association that brings together organizations for the collective exercise of copyright in audiovisual art), AIPA and ZAPA (Slovenian and Polish organizations for the collective exercise of author’s rights), was successfully completed in Belgrade. rights), and in cooperation with UFUS AFA PROTECTION.
At the conference, held on October 26 and 27, representatives from ten European countries, as well as the general secretary of AZAS, Kiril Gjozev, together with several other members of the team, spoke about the challenges in copyright protection in audiovisual art, about the implementation of directives on copyright from 2019 in the region, and it was also noted that a large number of countries in Europe still do not have an organization for the protection and realization of collective copyright.
Those present were addressed by the director of SAA Barbara Hayes, the director of the Institute for Intellectual Property of the Republic of Serbia Vladimir Marić and the director of UFUS AFA PROTECTION Stefan Gelineo who said that in a relatively short time of existence our organization managed to establish a system for the protection of copyrights of film authors and the collection of royalties.
The conference was also attended by Srđan Dragojević, the president of the Board of Directors of UFUS AFA ZAŠTITE and the lawyer of the organization Stevan Pajović from the law office “T-S Legal”.
