On June 21, at the “Solun” hotel in Skopje, in collaboration with the Slovenian organization AIPA, we organized a one-day international workshop on copyright and related rights for authors, performers, and film producers, on the topic “International experience and practices”.
The workshop was educational and Slovenian and European practices were shared in front of our rights holders, as well as the importance and significance of the rapid implementation of the Law on Copyright and Related Rights ZAPSP in our country were emphasized. Guest lecturers at the workshop were Gregor Štibernik, Director General of the Slovenian Organization for the Collective Management of Copyright and Related Film Rights of Performers, Authors and Film Producers AIPA, and Peter Kep, Lawyer and Operations Manager at AIPA. The workshop was attended by more than 20 rights holders – actors, screenwriters, film directors, directors of photography, animators, as well as film producers. We also informed the attendees about the dynamic period that follows in the future with the aim of establishing cooperation with other world and European organizations in this area and affirming AZAS.
We are the only Macedonian organization for the collective management of authors and related film rights in the country in accordance with ZAPSP, which includes authors, performers, and film producers under one roof. We have a work permit, issued by the Ministry of Culture, unique in our country for collecting funds from audiovisual works since September 2018. We are a member of the most relevant world and European organizations in this field and a partner of AGICOA.
