AZAS Publishes Its Inaugural Publication on Copyright and Collective Management
Skopje, 21.11.2024 – The Association for Copyright and Related Rights (AZAS) proudly announces the release of its first official publication dedicated to copyright and the collective management of copyright and related rights. This landmark publication marks a significant step in AZAS’s mission to promote awareness, transparency, and effective governance in the creative and cultural sectors of North Macedonia.
The publication, designed to serve as a comprehensive guide, highlights key aspects of copyright law, the role of collective management organizations, and their impact on creators, users, and the economy. It also outlines AZAS’s vision for supporting the country’s alignment with European standards and fostering an environment that values and protects intellectual property.
To emphasize the importance of copyright in cultural and economic development, AZAS has distributed the publication to all members of the National Assembly in Skopje. By doing so, the agency aims to strengthen the dialogue between policymakers, stakeholders, and the creative industries, ensuring a collaborative approach to future initiatives and reforms in the field of copyright.
“This publication represents our commitment to safeguarding the rights of creators and ensuring a fair and balanced system of collective management. By providing our policymakers with this resource, we hope to enhance understanding and inspire action towards a stronger copyright framework,” said Kiril Gjozev, Secretary General of AZAS.
AZAS remains dedicated to advocating for creators, fostering innovation, and supporting the country’s path towards a robust and modern copyright system.
